Conceptually inspired by the radical 70s Italian architecture group Superstudio the store’s grid and module system also reference the brand’s ubiquitous use of the gridwall display system. Porcelain tile was used as a cubic module for developing the interior space. The backstock, cash desk and fitting rooms appear connected, their locations and construction aligned within the grid system.
The thick concrete walls of the existing building allowed for a unique installation of custom display windows. Chrome mullions house the angled glazing, which alternate angles. The entire exterior was painted a medium grey allowing for a graphical treatment of exterior’s lighting and signage.
